About the site

Set just 15 minutes from Bakewell, the Peak District's largest town, this site has been in the trusty hands of the Lomas family for over 30 years and offers guests a peaceful base for their outdoor adventures! Whether you're there to explore the nearby market towns and quintessential villages or for hikes along the Monsal Trail or up to Mam Tor. There are two camping pods onsite, both set in one of the camping fields with ample space around for admiring the countryside views or for parking alongside your pod. The pods, Jabba the Hutt and Gardula the Hutt are slightly different in terms of their structure and shape but offer guests the same experience. Ideal for families or couples the pods can sleep up to four guests with a double futon and a bunk bed, there will also be a table and chairs inside for you to enjoy meals or let your competitive spirit shine with a board game. There is a window at the back of each and the doors of both pods have glass panes to let the light in as there is not an interior light, and there are blinds or curtains too if you don't want to be woken by the sunlight. Outside is a decking with a table and chairs, perfect for ending a day of hiking with a glass of your favourite tipple sitting and admiring the countryside views or starry night sky. Bedding and towels are not provided so you will need to pack your own pillows, linen and duvet as well as any toiletries you may need and cooking equipment. You may also want to pack a blanket as the pods are not heated. Facilities are just a short walk away, and you may want to bring a torch for trips at night, the facilities have toilets and showers (charged at 20p per minute), a pot washing area and a fridge/freezer for all guests to use. In the ladies, there is a hair dryer and sockets. These are shared with all guests onsite. WiFi is available in certain areas of the site too. Little ones can let off steam in the play park or meet the resident pigs and stroke the ponies onsite! You can also pick up fresh, local produce at the onsite shop which sells basics, fresh bread, milk and eggs plus ice cream and other sweet treats! Sorry, dogs are not permitted in the camping pods, however the camping pitches allow dogs so you may see some pups whilst onsite.
